Kok Hong Tan, a purveyor of quality, taste and class. Proudly born as a Malaysian Chinese, Kok Hong is a veteran with more than 22 years’ experience in the wine and hospitality industry. He moved to Singapore in Year 1999. His love affair with wine started after working for an award winning restaurant in Grand Hyatt Singapore. Kok Hong's love and passion towards the appreciation and learning of wine inspired him to become a wine sommelier. In seek of perfection, he obtained the French Wine Professional Level Exam by Sopexa French Wine Certification and became a Certified Specialist of Wine under Society of Wine Educator Program. His insatiable thirst to advance his knowledge of wine further drives him to achieve the honours of Certified Spanish Wine Educator,  Certified Portugal Wine Ambassador, wine speaker and wine judge. 

Having built up a solid foundation, with his vast and robust networks that he painstakingly built up between Asia and Europe, in Year 2017, Kok Hong was ready for what he described as the biggest leap in his life. It was a great milestone worth celebrating, a business model was born to reward him with greater satisfaction and at the same time to achieve work life balance. He is the brainchild behind Kohota Consultancy Pte Ltd, a Singapore based consultancy firm providing professional wine consultancy service and personalized sommelier service across Asia. 


Throughout his career, his clientele list includes local, regional and global companies with public listings, prestigious wine clubs, banks, medical professionals such as doctors, celebrities and private clients who seek his expertise in providing professional services in premium fine wines, food and wine pairing, conducting wine, sake & whisky masterclasses. In addition, Wineries, primarily from Austria & Sake Breweries from Japan engaged him as the professional wine/sake consultant to develop the business in the emerging markets like Asia. His professionalism and expertise has earned the recognition and trust from restaurant owners to seek his advice in the setup of restaurants across Asia, namely Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia & Singapore. He is also responsible for curating the wine list for the restaurants in Singapore. 

Kok Hong's deep-rooted devotion in wine created an opportunity for him to collaborate with an illustration artist and they co-founded Lady Gestin, a platform incorporating wine with music, art and lifestyle to elevate the level of wine appreciation globally and most importantly, to enhance and beautify women with professional wine knowledge.
